#115 CRITIQUE – IMAGE ADJUSTMENTS WITH NICK

In this month’s Critique, we looked at Image Adjustments. Seeing how paintings can be improved is one of the fastest ways to learn how to improve your own work. Nick walked us through his thinking as he showed how images can become stronger.

This was so great! Still learning so much about hierarchy, of focal point, simplifying.
Thank you.
This was an invaluable opportunity to have a piece discussed and see the image adjustment. I had a limiting belief that I have “no business” asking for feedback and thought I ‘should’ just listen to what was said to others and do my best to apply it. Of course there is growth involved in seeing others’ work but wow this was a learning experience on so many levels. I already see myself looking at and responding to my work differently from just ONE critique. As I go through the Design module of CVP – I am getting more now as I’m seeing what Nick talked about on this call. I’m seeing things I didn’t see before. Thank you team. I appreciate you all
This video has so many great examples of simplification, discernment, design refinement. Everyone will find current challenges and ways to solve. Great selections. Definitely worth a watch and then a rewatch.
I was just able to finish watching this adjustment video.
The best quote from Nick: “Go big or go home!”
I learned so much. Really understand what you love and amplify it.
Thank you!
Decide what you love!
This was a very informative critique! I learned alot. I have started cutting my paper pictures into interesting shapes and designs, and collaging them to my panels. So much to consider! But the big takeaway for me is what do I love, and what is the focus. As an alumni I am still learning. Thanks Nick!
This was one of my favorite A2L critiques, because I really got the core message to “simplify then amplify so we know what you love.” It was so helpful to have such a variety of paintings illustrating that one theme over and over in one critique session. I now feel more confident in knowing how to move some of my own stuck paintings forward. Thanks!
This was one of the best critiques I have watched. The best part is seeing/learning how I can use these ideas to improve my own work.
Really great reminder about focusing on what you love about a piece! Thank you!!!
Wonderful. So worth watching. Especially as I go through CVP for the 2nd time. Thank you so much everyone,
