A wonderful interview – loved learning about Rebecca’s inspiration, research, connection to place and seeing her magnificent work. Thank you.
I enjoy these inspirational interviews so much. This one with Rebecca was the best one yet to learn about her deep research and process in making her work. Truely incredible. Amy was did a wonderful job with the interview.
What a lovely, meaningful and thoughtful interview. This is the main reason I joined the academy again. These inspirational interviews are such gems. The artists we listen to are so open with their life stories, as well as their process of art making. We are not only instantly connected with parts of their stories, but always inspired by their authenticity and passion for art, place and time. I am constantly reminded that as an artist, I am connected to a society of generous, optimistic and caring people that can influence our world through sharing what makes life so valuable and uplifting. Thank you Amy and Rebecca.
What an amazing artist. Her work is so exciting, provocative & so varied. I kept waiting for Amy to ask her how she made the beautiful sculpture/vessels behind her. She never really asked. I would have loved to have seen her creating a bit. Learning the history of where her exhibits were was of interest, but I would have preferred learning more about her process.
I felt the same way, Nancy. I kept waiting for at least a small segment from start to finish but it never came. I have made handmade paper and was looking forward to seeing her process but Amy did a wonderful job interviewing her. I was interested in the beet pulp part because we have a sugar beet processing plant near us and the pile of beet fiber has grown to many acres and very high. I always think, when I go by, that there must be a way to use that product but have no idea what that would be. Thinking…………………
loved Rebecca Hutchinson,s remark about respecting the mobility for the visitor – being sensitive to the space between and her sensitvity to place – love her making Tumbleweeds for the gallery with weather theme prints !!! she is so natural and Amy Livezey was so calm and sensitively interviewing Rebecca Hutchinson. it was also interesting to hear Hospitals are aquiring some of Rebecca,s Sculptures . Beautiful interview !
Brilliant interview Amy. Rebecca is so generous in sharing her process / research methodologies/ studio. Really inspirational video.
With gratitude
