this was so helpful. The pushing of value contrast jsut a little, not too much, to bring interest in those secondary areas of focus. A bit like value saturation that isn’t too dominant being the supporting players to the lead actors.
This is great for bland areas in our paintings. I’m beginning to ‘get it’. Thanks Amy! And for your careful clear way of expressing things.
