ART CRITIQUE #24 EILEEN HARWOOD

Jun 6, 2018

BALANCING THE LEFT AND RIGHT BRAIN (Suggested for Stage Three, Learning)

Eileen Harwood is inspired by various materials and techniques, wanting to bring something out in a piece. She feels comfortable with her grasp of the principles, but has been struggling with accessing her Soul in her work, fearing she gets too much in her head when making her art. Listen in to the conversation about finding balance between the two.

In this video you will learn:

  • When you work in multiple mediums, they are all your work. Just look for what you love and find the commonalities.
  • Different mediums can inform each other and the work.
  • For some people, process–what they make and discover—is what the work is all about.
  • Don’t fear your left brain. You need it, but don’t let it run the show.
  • Allow your right brain to play and explore, then step back and think for a bit before going back to your right brain. You need both.
