#101 MASTER CLASS — THE POWER OF INTENTION
Is there a difference between an intention and a goal? In this Master Class, Nick weighs in on this question and identifies what’s unique to each. While a creative mindset is essential for both, intention is driven by purpose, whereas goals focus on outcomes. An artist’s intentions keep that vital connection with the heart strong. Nick will share tips for crafting clear, meaningful intentions and helpful tools to cultivate and maintain a thriving practice in art and life. This Masterclass is going to set you up for your best year yet!

Thanks for the fire!
I haven’t ever looked at Instagram; I don’t have a website; I never post images in this community…. but I understand I need to make myself visible if I want to achieve my vision. It starts with implementing my intention to open up and be seen, regularly. I challenge myself to look at many IG artist sites, decide how I want to do mine and figure out how to make at least 10 weekly posts showing my creations, starting next month.
I can see that this is a wonderful first step toward gaining confidence in myself as an artist, in the unfamiliar tech part of self-promotion and is a necessary stepping stone toward my ultimate visions for my life and my art.
Gulping hard and very pleased to be pushing myself off the cliff…
Thank you. This is great. It has inspired me to explore further what I am dreaming about and implement doing more deeply.
Nick, I watch and listen to you and immediately reach a higher frequency. I want my challenge to be 30 days 1/2 hr a day doing journal art to Academy or CVP videos. And may the high vibrations resonate and up the frequency of every part of my life – art and music ,dancing, fun , connection, relationships , fresh air, nature, walks and bike rides and ice skating and dancing and creating animated videos to flood the internet.
Thank you, Nick! I had an epiphany while taking notes during this masterclass. It was related to your question of who I need to become to realize my hopes and dreams. I realized that I tend to isolate myself but I actually crave connection. Your description of running at night with friends helped me realize how badly my soul needs to reach out to others. This sounds crazy but I don’t know how to do it and avoid it like the plague. Both of my parents were alcoholics when I was growing up So I’m used to avoiding anything that will make me feel exposed. It’s time for that story to end. I’m going to find some people who can coach me. My word for 2025 is openness and I decided to start here, right now with this comment.
Cynthia, I’m so excited that you had an epiphany during this!!! I’m excited to get started on my intentions. I’ve been thinking about this a ton. So glad this was the Masterclass!!
Enjoy your “openness” intention.
Thank you, Nancy! Good luck with your intentions. I’m also very glad this was a masterclass. : )
Great! These questions are most important. Thanks
I can’t find the pdf

Is there a PDF (power point?) of the content Nick shared in this video? He mentioned one. Thanks!
Hi Rebecca! Unfortunately, we don’t have a PDF of the slides, but we’ve condensed that information into its own PDF. You can find the PDF just underneath the video. Please let us know if you continue having trouble finding it.
This was wonderful! It came at the perfect time. I just set up a work schedule for my retired life because I desparately need structure in my life. Happily it revolves around my art. I have looms, yarn, canvas and paints in every medium, an embroidery machine, a knitting machine (from the 80s!), all kinds of projects frozen in time while raising 3 children and working a career in the technical field for 30 years. It overwhelms me to the point where I have been frozen. So just a few days ago I created a project list for 3 selected art outlets–loom project, knitting machine project, and an enlargement (blank canvas now) of a plein air study I did in Bar Harbor in November. This Master class and it’s questions definitely help me clarify the tools I need to define better and to follow through with my intention! Karma.
