#100 MASTER CLASS — THE ART OF THE SHOW (Nick & Ann)
Making art alone in one’s studio is one thing, showing it is quite another! What does it take to prepare for a show? What makes a cohesive body of work? What considerations come up regarding a solo or a group exhibition? Nick and Ann dive into these questions and much more as they reflect on their recent shows. Nick tracks the evolution of his solo show from start to finish, and Ann shares the development of her group show with two friends. This Master Class covers mindset, process, promotion and hospitality — all important considerations to put your best self forward with confidence and joy!

Thank you. This was very helpful.
I have been inspired by doing CVP and watching the Academy Inspiration and Masterclasses, which has given me the confidence to give it a go! Take a further step.
I applied to have a one-person show in Mosman, Sydney, on September 25 at a large cafe on the harbour.
It is an open space, without a lot of large hanging space. Most of the work until now is in watercolour and pastel, it is work painted from this location. I planned to put this into the show.
I am also starting a new series on Canvas. In the past, I painted in oil and now will work with acrylic / mixed media.
Any suggestions are appreciated. It is a big leap, I am driven to do it however also feel some doubts about it.
Hi, this was such a great interview from both Ann and Nick. I am unable to download the transcript. Is there a way that I can download the transcript of the Master Class Re the artist’s talk, even though I had instructed the gallery that I didn’t want to give a talk, on the night I felt pressured by the gallery to do so. What should have been an experience to remember and move forward with, left me with questioning myself as an artist. After listening to Ann and Nick there was so much to take from them being so open and truthful. Thanks again to both.
